David Dorn

In 2006, David was asked to compose for selected episodes of the inaugural season of Travelscope. Immediately drawn by Joseph’s pioneering spirit and leadership, David sought to highlight the inspirational voice of the program. His music serves the passionate narratives and enchanting images that make Travelscope such a stimulating television series.

The son of a reputable classical guitarist from Sioux Falls, SD, David has been a musician and performer since childhood. At 14, he began performing regularly in the independent music circuit and toured continually throughout the US from 1999 to 2003. In 2003, David decided to pursue a more serious education in music and moved to the pacific coast to study composition at California Lutheran University.

David has served as Executive Assistant for Composer/Violinist Maria Newman and Conductor/Violist Scott Hosfeld. In 2006, David joined Maria and Scott in coordinating the Malibu Coast Music Festival and the seasonal concerts at The Montgomery Arts House for Music and Architecture. David currently works at Sony Pictures Entertainment and is completing an internship in the Music Creative Affairs division of Worldwide Music.
