California’s Spectacular Coast

Posted on May 20, 2011

We just completed shooting a Travelscope show image

that featured a tour of some of the small towns and spectacular scenery of California’s Coast.  The show starts in our home town of Topanga and winds its way north to the edge of Big Sur.  Along the way we have some expected experiences, like visiting Hearst Castle, and unexpected experiences like sampling the wines of Malibu.  That’s right, Malibu.  Everyone associates Malibu with sand, sun and surfers, but never grapes.  Well, they are there and we stopped off at Malibu Family Wines and Cornell Winery and comfortably settled in at Cielo Farms where we met Bill and Richard Hirsch – two wonderfully welcoming wine lovers.  I recommend visiting all three, but especially Cielo’s tasting room, The Sip, where a cadre of colorful California characters frequently gather.  Check them out at http://www.CieloFarms.com.  The Sip is featured in our California Coast television show airing on PBS as part of Season 6.  Happy Sipping!
