Headed to the High Seas

Posted on November 09, 2011

Today we head to Venice, Italy to embark on an 11 day cruise aboard Regent Seven Seas PTV at Sea.

The agenda includes a gondola ride in Venice before we sail to Split, Croatia, one of the centers of Croatian culture.  We’ll also explore the old walled city of Dubrovnik and then head for the tiny island kingdom of Malta.  I haven’t visited this region of the Mediterranean and am looking forward to experiencing the culture first hand.

Next up is Sicily, known for its Roman ruins, amazing cuisine and warm hearted people.  The last stop is near Florence, Italy for a Chianti tasting tour and lunch at the Osteria La Scuderia at the foot of the Abbey of Passignano, to insure we come home augmented not only by the experience but also in our waistline.

This production, the final for Season 6, will be included in the 13-part series released next June.  We remain thankful and grateful to share our cultural encounters with our public television viewers.  Thank you for watching and joining us as we accept the world’s invitation to visit.

We’ll be posting to Facebook and Twitter daily.

Happy Traveling!

So looking forward to seeing this show and hearing your feedback on this cruise in particular.  My experience of ‘cruising’ is our annual trip (by sea in the 50s and by air after that) to the UK to visit grandparents.  Fond memories of the S.S. United States, Queen Mary, etc!
