Travelscope Wins Emmy!
Posted on June 20, 2011 By Joseph
Ah, the sweet feel of success! To us it’s not fancy cars, mansions on the hill, piles of dough in the vault or closets full of baubles and bangles – it’s recognition from one’s peers. We know what it feels like because after being nominated for an Emmy last year and not winning, Friday night we won our first (but, not our last) Emmy besting two PBS children’s shows and the Travel Channel’s Samantha Brown. The category is Single Camera Photography, and yet, as Zebediah Smith, Travelscope’s primary shooter and production supervisor, said from the stage podium at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, “Thank you for the personal recognition. Yet, I want to thank Julie and Joseph Rosendo and everyone associated with Travelscope, because it takes an entire crew of individuals to make a great show.” Truer words were never spoken. Saturday we had our Season 5 launch party. From sound engineers to line producers, from photographers to colorists, web editors to friends and family, they joined us to celebrate a job well done. These are only some of the talented people over the many years and five PBS seasons that have allowed Julie and me to continue “Living the Dream” and delivering to our viewers, listeners and readers the best we have to offer. We want to express a warm hearted “Thank You” to all that make Travelscope possible—including wonderful viewers, listeners and readers like you!

I love your show. Your emmy is well deserved. Keep up the good work.
