San Miguel de Allende, Celebrating in the Heart of Mexico

Scheduled Release - June 2012

Joseph makes his way to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for the annual fiesta in honor of its patron saint. While taking part in miles of processions, enjoying the world’s greatest fireworks display and dancing the night away to the music of dozens of local bands, he takes time to acquaint himself with the history and beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage colonial city, famous for its artistic soul. During his stay he models for the artists at the famous Instituto Allende, soaks in the mystical Mayan Baths, sails across the city in a hot air balloon and parties with the best of them in El Jadin, the town’s central plaza. To spice up his stay, he meets one of San Miguel’s top chefs at the market and picks up the fixings for his one-on-one cooking class featuring local cuisine.

image No-Jet-Lag - Don’t let jet lag spoil your trip. Don’t spend days after arrival being a bit like a zombie, not feeling 100%, and waking during the night. It’s hard to avoid. A survey of international flight attendants said 96% of them suffer from jet lag when flying long distances.

No-Jet-Lag is a natural product made in New Zealand, (where we have no choice about flying long distances) and it’s safe and effective. Arrive fresher on arrival. It’s listed with the FDA, and taking it is simple. Chew one tablet every two hours if awake and one on arrival. Click here for more info.

imageThe boutique hotel of Casa De Sierra Nevada is a mixture of 16th to 18th century Spanish colonial buildings, located one and one-half blocks from the cathedral and main city square of San Miguel de Allende. Its 37 rooms and suites are spread amongst six Colonial mansions.

Each casona, or mansion, which features five to seven guest rooms or suites, is unique. Many feature outdoor courtyards with fountains, small gardens and al fresco corridors. Guests do not have the feeling of being in a hotel at all. Rather, they are integrated into the town itself, making for a true cultural immersion. The experience is akin to living in a beautiful, historic apartment, where each building has an inner courtyard where one can sit and enjoy the evening, with candles creating a romantic ambience.
