In honor of the most significant holiday on the Chinese calendar, Hong Kong will usher in the 2012 Chinese New Year with its largest celebration yet.  Starting January 17, Asia’s World City celebrates the legendary “Year of the Dragon”- the most powerful year in the Chinese Zodiac-with extraordinary events, remarkable displays and spectacular festivities.

On January 23, the first official day of the New Year, Hong Kong will host the world-renowned Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade. Filling the streets of Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon with extravagant floats and traditionally-dressed entertainers, the must-see event will also feature premier performance groups from around the globe. The action-packed festivities continue on January 24, as the annual Chinese New Year Firework Display lights up the famed Victoria Harbour skyline for its seventeenth consecutive year. Enchanting locals and visitors alike for years, the breathtaking display attracts thousands of spectators every season. For more information visit discoverhongkong.com
